Where To File Complaints?
First, can you determine who displayed the public misconduct getting their full name/names, official position and correct contact information? Were there witnesses to the misconduct?
Can you investigate to determine who his or her supervisor is, getting a full and correct first and last name and complete and correct mailing information? Next make a list of the chain of command starting with the supervisor on up to the governor’s office in your state. The internet, your public library (which has free internet for public use) and public officials all have this information. This includes local Commissioners, Congressmen, Senators and House of Representatives in your local district (See the resources page). Be polite, respectful and courteous when you request information as the old saying goes, “You can catch more flies with honey then you can with vinegar”. Remember to get full names and correct mailing addresses. This is public information and public officials are required to give this information to the public. People will always remember an act of kindness. The person that called before you may have been rude and demanding, keep your conversation short and to the point being courteous. Your words may be the only nice conversation the person on the other end of the phone may have had all day.
